What is it about adversity that changes one’s heart and in doing so enhances their ability to enact positive change. Is this hardship and difficulty some kind of prerequisite to the incentive? Why do you suppose God would rub shoulders with such seemingly lost souls who most folks would deem undeserving? Benevolence is a gift as is compassion and understanding. It could be that the good in all of us is so compelling regardless of what opposite traits we display that it simply takes a good pounding either emotionally or physically to release our innate power. That power transcends the ego. We embrace the true nature of giving expecting nothing in return. I often thank God for my broken neck.
