Bill Murphy, Community Outreach Coordinator - Northeast Chapter
Bill Murphy is a native of Hopewell Junction, New York, halfway between New York City and Albany, on the eastern edge of the state. He graduated from SUNY Newpaltz (State University of NY) with a Bachelor of Science in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. He also serves as a greeter at St Denis Catholic Church in Hopewell.
As a serious sports fan, Bill is deeply devoted to the Yankees and the New York Giants. Listeners can feel his love for Major League Baseball and the NFL in his production, The Sports Insanity Podcast. Bill is also a key contributor to the Mixed Bag Podcast, which focuses on sports, movies, entertainment, TV, and various topics. The podcasts are a creative outlet and an opportunity for Bill, with his heavy New York accent, to share his expertise and opinions in these areas. Both podcasts can be found on YouTube and podcast outlets.
Like 5.4 million adults in America, Bill has Autism and IS LIVING his life on the Autism spectrum. Bill cites his parents, grandparents, and Derek Jeter as his main role models, and his grandmother always stressed to him that he should never waste an opportunity. After college, Bill faced the challenge of entering the workforce, and that is when he met another of his mentors, Debbie Major. Bill joined Zylofone Studios, Inc. as Communications Supervisor, and this was an opportunity he would not waste. Zylofone Studios was an arts-centered organization that addressed the needs of individuals with special needs and different abilities and successfully used the TRAP curriculum for years.
In 2025, Bill joined TRAP as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Northeast Chapter and is in training to become a TRAP facilitator. Eddie Tuduri, the TRAP founder, stated, “I didn’t hire Bill because he has Autism; I hired him because he is the smartest person to do this job.”
“I inherited a lot of grit from my parents and grandparents. I could sit here and feel sorry for myself or move forward. I choose to move forward,” said Bill Murphy.
