Kathy Webb
Advisory Board
Kathy Webb and her husband Ernie moved to Palm Desert in February of 2020, but have been vacationing in the area for the past twenty years. Kathy retired in 2020 after 20 years as Executive Director of United Cerebral Palsy/WORK, Inc., a large nonprofit organization serving over six hundred children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties. As Executive Director, Kathy and her team created groundbreaking services for people with disabilities, enabling them to thrive as independently as possible in the community of their choice. Kathy was responsible for all operations, including five high-level adult residential facilities, extensive vocational training and employment programs, micro-enterprises, business, and community development, supported living, and children’s services.
Kathy has received accolades from the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation, California Department of Transportation, the City of Santa Barbara, and the California Highway Patrol for developing employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, from Hearst Castle to the Santa Barbara waterfront. Kathy also received recognition from the California National Guard for opening the Camp Bob Café, a full-scale restaurant and training venue that serves as a springboard towards meaningful employment, as well as two additional restaurants, thrift stores, and art galleries, all of which are managed and staffed by people with disabilities. Kathy, a licensed residential administrator with an extensive background in human resources, has worked in the human services field since 1974.
Kathy remains busy providing consulting services to local nonprofit organizations. Kathy Webb Consulting offers strategic planning, organizational restructuring, human resources, staff development, and program development services, as well as support for families in navigating the California service system. In her free time, Kathy enjoys volunteering for a variety of nonprofit organizations in the Coachella Valley as well as TRAP, where she has been volunteering for close to twenty years. When she is not volunteering, Kathy loves exploring the amazing desert, painting, and spending time with her daughter and granddaughter in Arroyo Grande.
